Chris Holmquist
I am best known for my collaborating with my wife Sue in the work of Holmquist Pottery and we are hosts for the clay tour at our home/studio location in the countryside just east of Northfield. But now I am doing something NEW! In addition to Holmquist Pottery I have a new body of work I call my “Sketchy Pots” and I will have a booth of my own at the show.
This new pottery that I am making reflects my personal desire to combine the things that I love most in the clay making process with my love of drawing. Making beautiful pots and creating surface design for them is big for me and I also love drawing in my sketchbook. I am now able to apply my sketchy drawing style to the strong design of my pots. I feel that the drawings provide a wonderful contrast and also give me room for much personal expression. I am having a lot of fun!
