Chris Holmquist
The pottery that I am making reflects my personal desire to combine the things that I love most in the clay making process with my love of drawing. Making beautiful pots and creating surface design for them is big for me and I also love drawing in my sketchbook. I am now able to apply my sketchy drawing style to the strong design of my pots. I feel that the drawings provide a wonderful contrast and also give me room for much personal expression. I am having a lot of fun!
I am also collaborating with my wife Sue in the work of Holmquist Pottery. I am wearing two hats! We are hosts for the clay tour at our home/studio location in the countryside just east of Northfield.
